What is checked
Product file → map columns → check basic rules → findings per record
The basic profile requires SKU, GTIN and title as this tool's quality target. Mapped prices, stock, image URLs, categories and locales receive additional checks. The Kaufland profile checks semicolon delimiters, exact ean and locale headers, populated GTINs and locale formats. Repeated picture columns are allowed and category values may be absent. Additional category-specific required attributes are not checked.
An example to check
The fictional example includes an incorrect GTIN check digit, a repeated SKU and a missing title. The report identifies the CSV record and affected field. Image URLs are checked only as text.
Does not verify GS1 assignment, product identity or marketplace approval. It does not access seller accounts or request image URLs. Only selected fields and documented rules are checked; this is not a complete category or compliance validation.

Frequently asked questions
Does my product file stay on my device?
Yes. Reading, checking and CSV export run locally in your browser. Files and their contents are not sent to Backlane, a marketplace or an AI model.
Do all marketplaces require SKU and title?
The basic profile uses these fields as the quality target for this check. Actual requirements vary by marketplace, category and operation. The Kaufland format profile covers an explicitly limited subset of its documented CSV rules.
Are all image columns and category attributes checked?
The manually mapped image column is checked for populated, syntactically valid HTTP(S) URLs. Additional image columns and unmapped attributes are not checked. An empty category is not an error in the Kaufland profile because Kaufland can assign categories automatically.
How can I check actual marketplace errors?
Backlane lets your AI assistant access available product status and import error data from connected marketplaces. This is a separate step after setup; this free file checker needs no connection.
